According to subsequent reports, the high school basketball player is now out of ICU and in a stable condition though he remains in hospital.

James' son has already committed to play for the USC Trojans at college after he was also offered a place at the likes of Ohio State, Oregon and Kentucky.

The teenager is a 6"3 guard and was a star at the McDonald's All-American Game and is expected to one day join the NBA.

His dad, considered one of the greatest players of all time, has previously expressed a desire to play with Bronny in the league in the future.
